Just a 15-minute drive north of Mission Beach village, you will find yourself at the picturesque beach of Brookes Beach and the entry to your holiday destination - ‘Sails’ - A home that commands big blue views from a high oceanfront position on the secluded rainforest Beach, with golden sands set between the headlands bordering Bingil Bay and Garners Beach.
“Sails” interior is extraordinary with its six-metre-high ceilings and colourful art, design and furnishings throughout. From the moment you enter the house the feeling is uplifting, very open plan leading out onto decks all around that are covered. The pool at the north end of the house is also set high at deck level – taking advantage of the incredible views across the bay to the expansive blue Coral Sea and out to Dunk Island in the distance.
The grounds are landscaped down to the beachfront boundary and contain an elegant palm forest with many tropical flowering trees. The southern deck borders the rainforest with a beautiful bamboo stand towering over and providing afternoon shade. With neighbours few and far between, you can enjoy peace and privacy at this stunning location.
The kitchen has a minimal and contemporary design and is the central focal point of the home. You will enjoy preparing meals here and taking in the views from the wall of glass louvres. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances and ample fridge space so that you can plan ahead for your stay and not need to venture out shopping.
‘Sails’ water supply is pristine tank water which is filtered and provides high quality pure water to the entire house. The house offers WIFI so you have access to your work should you require a working holiday – this would have to be the best office away from the office.
Accommodating up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, the house is suited to a family with upper primary school aged children and above or 3 couples. Offering air-conditioning in the bedrooms only, the house design is quite open so the bedrooms are designed to allow light and air flow through the house - ideal for the tropical climate with extremely high ceilings and expanses of louvres to catch the ocean breeze and morning sun. The master bedroom with King sized bed plus ensuite bathroom is located upstairs and captures the sunrise from the eastern aspect - expect to wake with the sun and sleep with the moonrise. The second bedroom downstairs has a queen bed and adjoining shared bathroom and laundry, the bedroom also looks out to the east with stunning views of the sunrise to wake to. Bedroom 3 is located upstairs in the mezzanine above the living room and has its own balcony with sunrise plus an outlook to the swimming pool to the North - the bed is facing the east and also captures the full view of the stunning sunrise over sea. The 3rd bedroom is also a study space and perfect for the working traveller.
‘Sails’ is an executive holiday property and is suited to the holidaymaker searching for an escape, an oasis – a place to retreat, unwind and disconnect.
A walk through the rainforest takes you to the Sanctuary Retreat which can be booked ahead for meals – the restaurant there specialises in locally grown fresh foods and excellent coffee. A short drive to Bingil Bay and the local favourite dining spot The Bingil Bay Café offers breakfast, lunch and dinner or venture into Mission Beach village for an array of dining options and shopping.
