By Road
The drive to Mission Beach from Cairns is 1.5 to 2 hours along Highway No 1 – also referred to as The Bruce Highway. It takes you through the heart of the region’s sugar cane and banana farming communities. South of Innisfail at the small township called El Arish turn left from the Highway. (Opposite El Arish Golf Course). The distance to Mission Beach is approx. 16km travelling through amazing World Heritage listed rainforest
FINDING YOUR WAY TO MISSION BEACH FROM TOWNSVILLE
Townsville Airport offers flights from Darwin, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
The drive to Mission Beach from Townsville is 2.5 hours to 3 hours along Highway No 1 – also referred to as The Bruce Highway. It is strongly recommended on this drive to have a break at the Frosty Mango – approx. 45mins drive north of Townsville. Here you can enjoy the most amazing selection of homemade ice creams and gelati. Continue on your journey to Mission Beach crossing the Cardwell Range with breathtaking views at the top overlook Hinchinbrook Island and Channel. Just north of the township of Tully take a right turn. Drive through farmland and the world famous Licuala Palm Forrest and on to the beach communities of Mission Beach.
