“I’m hooked up!” The words every angler wants to hear! From reef fish to gamefish and all species in between, our 40 years of experience will “hook you up” with the Mission Beach fishing experience of a lifetime.
“Spirit of Dunk” is a custom built Geoff Glanville 7.6 metre Offshore Sportfisher, designed, engineered and built in Cairns for far northern conditions, safely handling all sea states and perfect for Mission Beach Fishing!
There is plenty of room on board, we are licensed to carry a maximum of 12 passengers around our islands, and up to 9 to the Outer Great Barrier Reef, making her great for larger groups, fantastic for private charters.
She is fast and comfortable with a 2016 model 225 Yamaha pushing her at up to 25 knots cruise (dependant on sea and wind conditions).
Be it popper, jigging, trolling or bottom fishing, her open centre console design and great stability makes her the logical choice for your offshore trip. Great visibility and her ability to manoeuvre in tight spots allows you to get up close and personal with both the fish and the reef.
“Spirit of Dunk” has new age high accuracy dynamic position technology on board, allowing us to fish, swim or snorkel without an anchor, great for your fishing/snorkelling trip, great for the reef!
She has an easy access duckboard at the stern allowing access for snorkellers/spearfishers, or just have a swim at lunch!
Fishing Mission Beach since the 80s, Hooked Up Fishing Adventures works with other charter operators to service larger groups (when timing allows), please enquire.

Do you have half a day spare? Book an island fishing adventure to tackle some of the hardest fighting table and sport fish these pristine waters have to offer!
Skippers Alister (senior skipper) and Gererd cut their teeth fishing around Dunk Island, the Family and Barnard Island groups, having been contracted to the Dunk and Bedarra Resorts for some 30 years, prior to Dunks closing.
These are the most beautiful island groups on the Eastern Australian Coast, covered in lush rainforest, fringed by reefs. Even if you don’t wet a line, you will enjoy being part of this scenery for a morning.
If you only have a half day spare, this is your trip to do.
Target species vary from the Outer Reef. Grunter, fingermark and gold spot cod are our main bottom table fish targets, queenfish, spotted and school mackerel on the surface.
If available on the day, live sardines are the bait of choice, however cut and whole baits (pilchard and squid) will work perfectly well. Lures may also be trolled or used depending on conditions on the day (lures and jigs provided).

OUTER REEF FISHING - $250 per person. Min 3 - Max 9
If you are looking for an action packed full day fishing the world famous Great Barrier Reef out of Mission Beach with the most experienced crew on the coast, look no further.
The Great Barrier Reef offshore from Mission Beach holds great table and sportfish. From the exquisite Coral Trout, the norths number one table fish, to the high adrenalin silver bullet that is the Spanish Mackeral, our waters hold numerous other species in between. Other piscatorial targets include Nannigai, Sweetlip, Spangled and Red Emporer, Gold Spot Cod, Jobfish, Reef Jacks, to name but a few. Reef edges, flats, wrecks and rubble beds may be all fished depending on what’s happening on the day.
No experience is needed, along with putting you on the best spots (thanks to our state of the art dynamic positioning system), our crew will show you all the tips needed to get “Hooked Up”.
Your Outer Reef trip starts around 7.30am and includes:

When the water isn’t as blue as you’d like it to be, It’s the perfect time to be fishing the estuaries!
Half day fishing trip with Hooked Up Fishing Adventures Mission Beach fishing the estuaries of the beautiful Hull River. This is a sheltered waters all weather trip targeting bream, grunter, mangrove jacks, barra and mud crabs.
Price includes morning/afternoon tea, bottled water and all estuary fishing gear.
